On July 21, 2005 Commander Thomas M. Pattullo passed away after waging a three year battle with cancer.  Commander Pattullo's Naval career spanned over 20 years.  His final assignment was Commanding Officer, Fleet Aviation Specialized Operational Training Group, Atlantic Fleet, Norfolk, VA.  Prior to that Commander Pattullo had accumulated over 500 carrier-arrested landings and more than 2700 flight hours in various Naval aircraft.

Commander Pattullo lived by his code of "God, Family and Country".  He left behind his best friend and wife, Cathy and their four children, Nicole, Cara, Connor and Craig.  To honor him, Commander Pattullo's family and friends established "Pluto's Pride - CDR Thomas M. Pattullo Memorial Foundation".  The mission of the Foundation is to carry out Commander Pattullo's belief that it was part of his duty to honor and take care of his fellow military brothers and sisters.

Upon its creation the Foundation wasted no time in targeting their first mission.  The collection of donations to purchase DVD, CD and MP3 players, DVD's and CD's for Tom's fellow service members and their families who are currently fighting their own battles with cancer in the Portsmouth Naval Hospital.

On Monday, November 14, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. the first collection of players, including 34 DVD players, 19 MP3 players and 17 CD players, will be donated, along with numerous DVDs, CDs and books on CD to the Adult and Pediatric Oncology and Infusion Center at the Portsmouth Naval Hospital.  The presentation will be made by members of Commander Pattullo's family.

The Foundation will continue to strive to reach the goals that sped Tom on in his Naval career and in his daily life by sponsoring similar projects.  Any suggestions, donations or comments are welcome and may be directed to the Foundation website, www.plutospride.com.
